This season draws inspiration from imagery of waterfront dockers in America and old Europe, loosely spanning a 1950s~1970s period, with a tip of the watch cap to old school Army & Navy surplus stores.

Back in those days, local A&N surplus stores were the perfect source of rugged outerwear for dockhands.
They carried an endless supply of used American-made field-tested government-issued gear, New-Old-Stock out-of-regulation US military styles, imported foreign military uniforms, civilian workwear, out-of-fashion sportswear acquired from close-out jobbers, …, and other utilitarian goodies at affordable prices.
Mixing GI and civilian gear, dockers decked-out in old USN Peacoats, military dungarees, jeep coats, cowboy jeans, trucker jackets, etc, can always be spotted on vintage photography and period footage. No fashion statement, just functionality and durability, and from a Mister Freedom® standpoint, coolness!
Clothing manufacturers with government contracts often released civilian versions of their Mil-Specs production, and distributed those non-regulation models via A&N outlets, contributing to the very eclectic mix of merchandise, and attracting a wide-ranging clientele, from blue-collar workers to outdoor aficionados, from survivalists to hipsters, from thrifty shoppers to wealthy celebrities.
As an anecdote, when funky bell bottoms became completely unfashionable in the 1980s, most of the retail inventory overstock ended-up in Army Navy surplus stores. There are still traces of such goodies today, if you get lucky, but a large chunk of modern A&N stores’ inventories now consists of new Chinese imports. The old stuff is gone.

For FW2026, we took this vintage Army & Navy surplus store narrative — with the eclectic mix of old-fashioned menswear ruggedness — , sprinkled it with a splash of grooviness, and poured it all in the MF® blender.
